Ramona High Football Players Commit to Division I Football Universities

One young football player has committed to University of Utah and another to the Air Force Academy, Athletic Director Damon Baldwin said.

Two Ramona High School football players have received full athletic scholarships to Division I football universities—a first for the school's football program history, according to high school's athletic director.

Damon Baldwin announced that Christian Drews has committed to play at the University of Utah in the Pacific-12 Conference (PAC 12) in 2016 after going on his Mormon mission; and Matt Lawler, who plays tight end, committed to the Air Force Academy.

"RHS Football is very proud of both young men and this only brings more attention to other Bulldogs that are willing to work hard, get good grades, and commit to the sport that can provide so many great opportunities to young men post high school," Baldwin said in an email.

Congrats to our local football players!
