Ramona Boys Soccer Team Faces Off Against La Costa Canyon in CIF Game Saturday

The Feb. 23 game is the quarterfinal playoff game for the varsity soccer boys.

Ramona High School boys varsity soccer team's goal this weekend is to beat out La Costa Canyon High at the CIF quarterfinal playoff game.

Overall, the Ramona Bulldogs have had a better record this season than the LCC Mavericks, with 20 wins compared to 16. Our local kickers are ranked third in their section and 23rd in the state.

Soccer star Alex Medina has made 22 goals this season, according to MaxPreps.com and in a Feb. 13 article on the Ramona Sentinel, soccer coach Michael Jordan complimented the sophomore's kicking ability.

“He’s been the most prolific scorer in the Valley League. He scored against every team,” Jordan said in the article. “He’s, I believe, the only one.”

Residents can cheer on Medina and his teammates tomorrow, Feb. 23 at 5 p.m. at Ramona High School.

Tickets to see the CIF playoff game are just $7.
