Karen Perdew Is Ramona School District's Classified Employee of the Year

The computer technician is known for quick problem solving and working well with all groups in the district.

Karen Perdew has been named Classified Employee of the Year in the Office/Technical category by Ramona Unified School District. She is a Computer Technician I and has been in her current position for 5 years.

Perdew has worked in a support role for the deployment of PowerSchool—a web-based student information system—training employees in its application. The system allows for educators, parents and students to collaborate together. Perdew works with all the school sites and the district.

"The PowerSchool deployment would have greatly suffered if not for Karen's participation," according to Technology Director Keith Wright

"Her example of quality work is more special because of her global position within the district and her commitment to the success of thousands of staff members," Laura Vigneau of Education Services Support wrote in her nomination form.

Perdew also helps with the Palomar/Pomerado Health diabetes screenings for 5th graders in the district.
