Ramona High, Olive Peirce Middle School Principals Receive High Honor

Tony Newman and Linda Solis received "Principal of the Year" awards from the Association for California School Administrators.

Ramona High principal Tony Newman and Olive Peirce Middle School principal Linda Solis both received "Principal of the Year" awards for San Diego and Imperial Counties, Ramona Unified School District Superintendent Dr. Robert Graeff said Monday.

Newman and Solis were recognized by the Association for California School Administrators (ACSA) for their outstanding service to their respective schools and the Ramona community, Graeff said in an email.

"These two honors for our local principals are major awards—as our region represents more than 700 schools and there is only one successful candidate per awards category," Graeff stated.

The superintendent said a recognition dinner for our district's outstanding principals will be held in late April, hosted by ACSA and the California School Boards Association.

"More than 600 invited guests will join in showing their sincere appreciation for Newman's and Solis's outstanding achievement," Graeff stated.
