Ramona Resident Appointed as an Assistant Sheriff

Michael McNally is the new Assistant Sheriff of Court Services and Human Resources Bureaus.

Michael McNally, a 21-year resident of Ramona, has been appointed to the position of Assistant Sheriff of Court Services and Human Resources Bureaus by Sheriff Bill Gore.

McNally replaces Kim Quaco who retired in December. There are four assistant Sheriff positions in the county.

He has held positions at the Poway, Encinitas, Santee and San Marcos stations and at the Ramona and 4S Ranch substations. McNally also worked at the George Bailey Detention Facility and the Sheriff's communications center, according to a news release from the County of San Diego.

McNally was promoted to commander in 2008 and supervised central investigations, communications, the crime lab and crime analysis.

"Mike has distinguished himself through his sustained work ethic and commitment to this organization's mission. He is both eminently qualified and well deserving of this opportunity for advancement," Gore said.

McNally holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems from the University of Redlands. He also graduated from the Senior Management Institute for Police and the FBI National Academy, the news release states.
