Ramona Planning Group Will Hear Proposals for New Apartment Complex, Dye Road Intersection

The Ramona Community Planning Group monthly meeting will be held at the Ramona Community Center at 7 p.m. Thursday.

The July meeting the Ramona Community Planning Group takes place tomorrow, July 11 at 7 p.m. in the Ramona Community Center.

Due to the holiday, the meeting will not be held in the Ramona Library, but at 434 Aqua Lane.

Though it is listed on the agenda for the meeting, the Dye Road Extension Project will not be presented, as the county has asked to pull the item "since they are not ready to present," said Planning Group Secretary Kristi Mansolf.

Hot topics on the meeting's agenda include:

  • A presentation by Ed Gros, project architect, on a preliminary roposal for an Apartment Complex  at the 500 block of 16th Street, 3.68 acres, south of Wendy's/McDonald's and  across the Street from the Ramona Lutheran Church
  • A presentation by Chris Thomas, from Caltrans, on the Highland Valley/Dye Rd./Highway 67 Intersection Project Report
  • An update on a meeting regarding the Santa Maria Creek cleanup efforts
  • The board will consider sending representatives to SDG&E regarding the replacement of wooden poles along a 14-mile stretch of road between Ramona and Santa Ysabel
  • Update on the Affordable Workforce Housing for Families planned for Robertson Street
