Outgoing Planning Group Members Are Recognized by Supervisor Jacob

Angus Tobiason, one of three group members who is leaving the board next year, has served the community for 24 years.

Three outgoing members of the Ramona Community Planning Group received recognition from Supervisor Dianne Jacob at last week's monthly group meeting at the library.

Planning Group Chair Jim Piva presented Bob Hailey, Chris Anderson and Angus Tobiason with a certificate from Jacob that recognized their long-term service to the community of Ramona.

"These three have brought a lot of expertise to this planning group," Piva said. "You guys will be hard to replace."

Tobiason has served on the board for 24 years, Anderson for 14 years and Hailey for eight.

While the certificates were appreciated by all, Tobiason said he'd rather see something done about the local creekbed and the much-needed cleanup.

"I'd rather have that than this certificate," Tobiason said, urging Jacob to obtain a permit from the county to cleanup the creek.

Newcomers Donna Myers, Jim Cooper and Barbara Jensen will replace Tobiason, Anderson and Hailey. They were voted in Tuesday night along with five incumbents, including Piva.

Thanks for all your work on our local planning group, Angus, Chris and Bob!
