No Arrests Yet for Ramona’s 3 Armed Robberies Since July

The Sheriff's Department believes at least two of the robberies could be connected.

Two armed robberies at in recent months and one at in July are still under investigation, according to Sheriff's Sgt. Christina Bavencoff of Ramona substation.

The most recent one happened at about 4 a.m. Sept. 24 at the taco shop in the 1800 block of Main Street. Another robbery, by two men, happened there one August morning at about 1:30 a.m. The Ransom Brothers robbery on B Street happened on July 22 in the middle of the day.

“At least two of them could have been connected,” Sgt. Bavencoff said Wednesday. “Maybe all of them. However, at the Ransom Brothers one, the guy was pretty much all covered, so it’s hard to tell.”

The suspect in that robbery was reported to have worn black pants, a hoodie, hat, sunglasses and bandanna. He was described as 5 feet 9 or 5 feet 10 inches tall and between 160 to 180 pounds.

Ransom Brothers lost “less than $500” according to the store manager, Pat Cronn, at the time. He said the suspect fled north on Sixth Street.

Los Rancheros lost $600 in the recent robbery, according to the Sheriff's Department records. Details about the other robbery there were not immediately available Wednesday from the substation.
