An 87-year-old man who suffers from dementia wandered away from his assisted care facility in Poway early Tuesday, promoting a thorough search of the area that ended with him being found safe several hours later, authorities said.
James Youse was reported missing from the 12700 block of Monte Vista Road around 12:15 a.m., according to San Diego County sheriff's Sgt. Edward Ward.
Shortly after 5 a.m., Ward announced Youse was located near his care facility and returned safely to it.
