Envelope Please! Local Patch 'Deck the House' Finalists

Ramona sparkles in national holiday contest for our schools.

Thank you so much to Sharla Harrold for submitting the entry of her amazingly decorated home in the Patch Deck the Halls contest.

You're the Ramona local winner! Congratulations!

(Ironically, Sharla told us her home is on Winners Circle in Ramona!)

Tonight we'll find out if you are among the 24 National Finalists—keep your fingers crossed. Each Top 24 Finalist is guaranteed $500 to help pay those holiday-sized electric bills and a shot at winning a $100,000 donation for their public school district.

A special thank you to everyone who entered. You made our dark drives home more festive and "oooh-worthy" this holiday season.

Sharla wrote this to Patch about her home decorating each year"

"I grew up here and I don't know if you're familiar with the Hansons who lived right across the street from the high school football field, but they dressed up as Santa and Mrs. Claus every year and decorated their home to the hilt. I always told people when I had my own place I was going to do the same, so people would enjoy the lights and the kids would know people were in the spirit still.

"We have been decorating our house for 10 years," Sharla wrote. "Every year we try to add something new and are currently trying to convert everything to LEDs, as they are cheaper to run. I'm so glad we can let people enjoy what we loved to do every year! Thank you again. -- Sharla and Byron Harrold"

Update Dec. 30 -- The Harrolds' home was not selected as a national finalist, but four California homes did make it into the finals.
