Recycle Your Christmas Tree With Ramona Disposal

Single-family residences may place their tree curbside on your regular collection day from December 26 - January 10.

The big day has passed, the evergreen smell is fading and the Christmas tree in your living room is getting crispier by the hour. Here's the lowdown on how to recycle your Christmas tree without much hassle thanks to Ramona Disposal:

Those living in single-family residences may place their tree curbside on your regular collection day from December 26, 2013 through January 10, 2014.

To prepare your Christmas tree for recycling—including flocked trees—simply remove all ornaments, tinsel and the tree stand. Cut the tree in half if taller than 4-feet and place at the curb. Tree segments can also be placed in your green-waste container or bundle branches together with twine for collection (bundle should not exceed 4 ft. x 18 in.). You can also recycle other organic decorations, such as garland and wreathes, as well as wood (no pressure-treated or lead-base painted wood), in your designated green-waste container.

    • Ramona High School
    • The Village Shopping Center – SDCE

All regularly scheduled collection services will experience a one-day delay in service the remainder of this week because no trash pickup was performed on Christmas Day.

In observance of the upcoming New Year’s Day holiday on Wednesday, January 1, 2014, Ramona Disposal will not be performing any collection services and the public disposal site, buyback center and customer service office will be closed. As a result, all regularly scheduled collection services will experience a one-day delay in service the remainder of the week.

Ramona Disposal would also like to remind its customers to recycle this holiday season. Paper gift wrap, gift boxes, greeting cards, cardboard and glass, metal and plastic beverage containers can all be recycled in their commingled recycling containers. Christmas trees, wreaths, garlands and cut flowers can also be recycled by simply placing these in the designated green waste cans after all lights and decorations have been removed.
