Possible Flash Flooding Monday

The National Weather Service says that recently-burned areas are susceptible to flash flooding.

Monsoonal moisture and daytime heating will bring scattered thunderstorms to most parts of San Diego County today, posing a threat of flash flooding, forecasters said.

A flash flood watch will be in effect from 10 a.m. through this evening in the inland valleys, mountains and desert areas of the county, according to the National Weather Service.

"A flash flood watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding," the NWS advised. "Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation."
