.45 Inch of Rain Recorded at Ramona Airport Thursday

Ramona experienced some relief from the heat with Thursday's first storm of the season.

The first storm of autumn brought cooler temperatures and modest, scattered rainfall, to the San Diego area today, including .45 of an inch in Ramona.

The unsettled system out of the Pacific Northwest began dousing the region with light showers in the mid-morning, according to the National Weather Service.

The precipitation continued throughout the day, gradually dissipating in coastal communities as the clouds drifted eastward.

The showers should dwindle further tonight before ceasing entirely sometime Friday morning, making way for clearing skies, meteorologist Tina Stall said. The weekend is expected to bring a gradual warming trend along with fair weather, she stated.
