Power Returns for Customers in Ramona, Iron Mountain and Barona

SDG&E reported a problem in the overhead electrical system Tuesday night.

A power outage was reported in east and south Ramona, the Iron Mountain area and Barona at 7:33 p.m. Tuesday.

SDG&E reported on its website that 653 customers were affected. The approximate restoration time was initially estimated to be 8:33 p.m. but was then extended to 10:33 p.m.

By 8:45 p.m., the utility reported that fewer than 100 customers remained in the dark.

Some residents in the downtown Ramona area had power back on within minutes or within about an hour of the outage.

A problem in the "overhead electrical system" was reported by SDG&E to be the cause.
