Holiday Trimmings, Anyone?

Nan's Place on Main offers decorations all year round.

Just in time for Christmas, Nan's Place on Main has opened at 638 Main St., near Ramona Cafe, featuring holiday decorations and gifts. Ramonans can shop for Christmas or Thanksgiving all year round.

Kathy Jo Brewer is the owner. Melanie Delacruz is the manager.

The theme is a country holiday, so shoppers will find shadow sculptures, enamel dinnerware and country western accessories, as well as Christmas gnomes, tree ornaments and tall, free-standing Santa Claus and tin soldier decorations.

Brewer said she used to own The Nail Nak and Tan salon in the same building, but made the switch to the holiday store because, "My husband said you have sheds and rooms full of collectibles—you could own a store.

"I always got into Christmas. I've collected for years. I always liked the stores in Julian," Brewer said.

"All my grandkids and great-grandkids call me Nan—and all their friends. That's how I'm known. So that's why I named it that."
