History Buffs, Film Buffs, have we got a find for you!  On Saturday June 30th The Julian Historical Society will present two benefit screenings of the 1925 silent film "Galloping On" directed by Richard Thorpe(over 185 films to his credit, before he retired in 1967) and starring the town of Julian.

The film has been brought to us byinternationally-known Film Historian, Collector, Writer, Lecturer, and Filmmaker; Richard M. Roberts who will be introducing the film and leading a discussion after each screening.

The film features actors:  Wally Wales (Hal Taliaferro), Jessie Cruzon and Louise Lester.  The Story line - "Wally Moore is unjustly convicted of a crime after been framed by circumstantial evidence by town-banker Brown and
outlaw-leader Jack Bowers. After serving his two-year sentence he comes back home to find that his ranch has been foreclosed on by the bank. Wally, protecting Helen, the Sheriff's daughter, from being assaulted by Bowers, once again finds himself behind bars. Bowers and his gang lure the Sheriff and his posse out of town in order to rob the bank. Helen lets Wally out of jail and he pursues the four bandits."
(Synopsis by Les Adams). The location of
the town is Julian and its surrounding area!
