Golf for a Cure in Ramona with Relay for Life Golf Tournament

On Saturday, August 2, 2014 at the San Vincente Golf Club, 24157 San Vincente Road, Relay for Life of Ramona presents the 3rd annual Golfing for a Cure charity tournament. Check-in begins at 11:30 a.m. and a shot gun start begins at 1:00 pm.

Golfing For a Cure proceeds go to the American Cancer Society and provide players of all skill levels an outstanding golf experience and the opportunity to support cancer research, education, advocacy, and patient service programs in local communities.  This event is the last of three presented by the Ramona Relay for Life Committee, and follows the April Relay for Life walk and the June Horsepower for Life equestrian event.  “The 2014 fundraising goal is $50,000, and with community involvement in this fun and friendly event, we can make our goal”, said Juli Elliott, Event Chair.  Win the Race for the Cure! 

The tournament format is scramble, so everyone can play regardless of experience; the participant qualification is only the ability to have fun, laugh and enjoy friends united for a great cause.  Golfers can also enjoy the Putting and Chipping Contest and the Hole in One Car!  The event is held at the beautiful San Vincente Golf Club which features a championship golf course, designed by Ted Robinson, and offers a challenging 18 holes with a Par 72, measuring in length 5,501–6,633 yards. San Vicente is considered to be one of the most scenic San Diego golf courses.

A fee of $100 per person includes greens fees, cart rental, lunch, and prizes.  Golfers can also enjoy a pizza party and raffle drawing after the tournament ends.

For local businesses and residents wanting to advertise or donate, and for individuals who just don’t want to play, sponsorship of a hole is available for $100 and a dedication of a hole in honor of a friend or loved one is $50.
