Spring Brings Thoughts of Gardening

Tuesday marks the equinox and the beginning of a whole new season.

Time to dust off the gardening gloves. Spring has sprung!

Spring begins each year on the equinox, which is Latin for "equal nights," according to The Old Farmer's Almanac. As the sun crosses the equator, both day and night are equal length. That point was reached at about 1 a.m. Tuesday.

The season seems to have come early in Southern California. Many people have commented how everything has been budding and flowering early because of the generally warm, dry winter.
