Cross Cloud—Did You See It?

What appeared similar to two vapor trails crossing each other was seen over Cleveland National Forest Thursday. But could they have been vapor trails? What caused the "cross cloud."

A Ramona Patch reader, Tim Flagstad, sent in these photos taken over Cleveland National Forest near Barona Mesa in eastern Ramona Thursday.

Flagstad is wondering who else saw the "cloud" formation, which looks like a cross.

He said it extended much further and lasted much longer than a vapor trail.
