A Second Morning of Record-Low Temperatures in Ramona
Records set in 2007 were broken over the weekend, with warmer temperatures and gusty winds on the way.
Ramona residents endured a second morning of record-low temperatures Sunday when the thermometer dropped to 21 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
The last time it was this cold in mid-January was in 2007, when records dating back to 1974 were broken. Sunday’s low broke 1997’s mark by two degrees, and Saturday’s low of 23 was one degree colder than the six-year-old record.
The forecast calls for warmer temperatures, but windy conditions will develop, with gusts possible reaching 40 mph on Tuesday.

The National Weather Service forecast for Ramona:
Sunday night: Areas of frost after 10 p.m. Otherwise, mostly clear, with a low around 27. West wind 10 to 15 mph becoming east after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 50. Northeast wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
Monday night: Clear, with a low around 33. Windy, with a northeast wind 25 to 30 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph.
Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 52. Breezy, with an east wind 10 to 15 mph increasing to 20 to 25 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph.
Tuesday night: Clear, with a low around 37. Breezy, with a east wind 15 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph.
