Multiple Accidents Slow Traffic on Rain Slicked Route 67, Mudslide on Old Julian Highway

Rain slicked roads during both commutes Thursday led to accidents and traffic on routes out of Ramona- highways 78, 67 and around San Diego county, according to California Highway Patrol. Accidents continued throughout the day, including a crash involving an overturned flat bed trailer and semi truck on SR-67.

An accident at Dye Road and SR-67 involving three cars was reported at 2:40 p.m. and another at Wildcat Canyon and Barona Roads reported at 4 p.m. was blocking some northbound traffic.

A mudslide was reported to have "started to cover the eastbound side" of Old Julian Highway near Philton Drive in Ramona at 4:15 p.m., according to CHP.

An accident on SR-67 at Scripps Poway Pkwy. was also reported at about 3:15 p.m.

Lakeside Fire announced at 11 a.m. that they were "working multiple accidents in the northbound and southbound lanes of Route 67 at the top of the grade,"  and "responding to a flat bed trailer over turned on at San Vicente Avenue in Lakeside that may result in extensive delays.

A rollover accident on SR-67 near Slaughterhouse Canyon Road at about 7:40 a.m. originally involved two vehicles and at least two others were involved in secondary crashes. One southbound lane of traffic was closed for a time.

Another accident on SR-78 near Horizon View Drive, east of Ramona, was reported at about 8 a.m.
