Woman in Her Skivvies Leads Police on High Speed Chase Down Main St.

Edith Cordoba-Chavolla was arrested on suspicion of DUI, felony evading police and driving without a license after crashing in Poway.

A Ramona woman suspected of DUI and found driving only in her underwear was arrested Monday evening after she led police on a chase down Main Street that reached 95 m.p.h. and crashed her car in Poway, according to California Highway Patrol.

Edith Cordoba-Chavolla, 35, failed to stop at a stop sign at Magnolia Avenue and SR-78, which prompted a deputy to attempt to pull her over, according to CHP. 

She was seen speeding down Main Street in Ramona just before 5 p.m. Monday evening followed by multiple law enforcement vehicles. CHP Officer Kevin Pearlstein said the chase ended when she crashed into a metal gate and fence on Pepper Tree Lane in Poway, a private road.

She was arrested on suspicion of DUI, felony evading police and driving without a license. When arrested, law enforcement discovered that she was only wearing underwear, according to CHP.

Cordoba-Chavolla had minor injuries from crash and was cleared at Pomerado Hospital, according to Pearlstein.  She was then booked into Las Colinas Detention Center.
