Two Cars Go Up in Flames, Damage Ramona Apartment Complex

The fire, which damaged 3 apartments at the Daisy Hill complex, is under investigation by the Sheriff's Department Bomb Arson Unit.

Two cars in the parking garage of the Daisy Hill apartment complex in Ramona caught fire and damaged three apartments Tuesday morning, according to the Ramona Fire Department.

The fire, which cut utilities to 14 units at the complex at 1515 Montecito Road, was under investigation by the Sheriff’s Department Bomb Arson Unit. Five engines responded to the blaze, reported at 6:25 a.m.

Damages were estimated at $150,000, according to the Ramona Sentinel. Eight residents were displaced by the fire, and Red Cross is providing assistance, according to the fire department. No injuries were reported.

The Ramona Sentinel reports that neighbors in the complex began knocking on doors in order to evacuate the building.
