Solo-Crash on San Vicente Rd. Takes Life of 18-Year-Old Ramona Resident

The accident occurred Thursday night. The victim has yet to be identified.

A crash on San Vicente Road Thursday night that took the life of an 18-year-old Ramona woman is under investigation, according to California Highway Patrol.

The one-vehicle accident took place west of Wildcat Canyon Road around 9:30 p.m. She was driving westbound at an estimated 65 m.p.h. and lost control on a curve, according to CHP Officer Kevin Pearlstein. The car, a 2004 Hyundai Elantra, crashed into a tree and the woman was trapped inside, he said.

A witness called 911 and emergency personnel arrived and "confirmed the death without intervention," according to the Medical Examiner's Office.

The victim's name has not been released.
