The San Diego County Sheriff's Department announced that their "Holiday Watch" program begins this week to increase safety and deter shoplifting during this busy shopping and traveling season.
Holiday Watch in Ramona will consist of a Sheriff's Horse Patrol on Main Street Saturday, Dec. 7 and 14, from 5-8 p.m.
The department describes the "crime-fighting initiative" as part enforcement and part education. They said to expect more patrols in your neighborhood, malls, parking lots and other hot spots for criminals. Sheriff's SKYWATCH will be deployed at parking lots around the county to spot suspicious activity, but is not planned to be used in Ramona. Deputies also plan conduct undercover operations to check on parolees and probationers.
