Two Hikers Airlifted from Cedar Creek, Three Sisters Falls Over the Weekend

A woman was treated for dehydration and another hiker — a diabetic — was transported to a hospital.

A 51-year-old woman hiking in Cedar Creek needed to be airlifted out early Saturday evening, the San Diego County Sheriff's Department said.

According to the department, a call for the hiker came in around 4:40 p.m. after she was "feeling ill."

Ramona Fire Department/Cal Fire Station 81 said the woman was airlifted out of the trail to the trailhead but was not transported to a hospital. She was treated for dehydration, according to Station 81.

The Sheriff's Department's ASTREA was called out once again for a rescue on Sunday evening, Station 81 said.

Around 8 p.m., a diabetic hiker needed assistance out of the Three Sisters Falls trail. The fire department said the hiker was transported via ambulance to a hospital.

No other information was available about either hiker, including if the Cedar Creek patient had a day permit.
