Back to School NIght & ArtReach Student Art Exhibit at Ramona Elementary

Community Welcome to Visit School & View Art

Students, parents and community members are invited to visit Ramona Elementary school on September 11, 6 PM to 7:30 PM for Back to School Night and a student Art Exhibit sponsored by ArtReach and the Ramona Community Foundation.

Meet the new Ramona Elementary principal, Dr. Daniell Paquette, tour the classrooms and stop by the Library to see artwork created by 4th and 5th graders during ArtReach visual art education workshops last year.

ArtReach is a not-for-profit organization that focuses on taking professional artists into K-6 schools throughout San Diego County to provide sequential, standards-based art workshops, with a special emphasis on providing free workshops to Title I schools that meet other need criteria, including no existing visual art program.

ArtReach has worked at Ramona Elementary since 2010. A grant from the Ramona Community Foundation coupled with funding from Qualcomm allowed ArtReach to work with the 4th and 5th graders eight times during 2012/2013. That is a lot of original art!

Each student in the program choose one piece of art from their portfolio to be hung in the exhibit.
