Minor Earthquakes Felt in Ramona

Two earthquakes with magnitudes of 3.3 and 3.7 and epicenters many miles away from Ramona were reported to be felt in town Monday.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.3 rocked the deserts of East County at 10:33 a.m. Monday and a 3.7 earthquake was reported near Idyllwild at 3:30 p.m.

The epicenter of the magnitude 3.3 quake was 9 miles north of Borrego Springs, near the Riverside County line and about 18 miles south of La Quinta, and the magnitude 3.7 quake was located four kilometers southwest of Idyllwild.

Sheriff's dispatchers confirmed that there were no damage reports for the magnitude 3.3 quake. The quakes were felt as far away as Ramona by some people, according to the USGS and Facebook posts.
