I agree, D'Carlos is awful. I know people say it is the place to eat in Ramona, so I tried it 3…Read More times. They struck out ALL three times! Service was lousy & food was literally burnt one time, and the next it was way undercooked, the last time was just bad food. Sorry but even in Ramona strike three means you are out!

Yes Dear, 11 years from now when I retire from Psychiatry, we can officially open up Cafe Plumbloco…Read More on Snuz Mtn Rd... as long as you do the hosting and dishwashing. ...and we'll ask Jon Hasz to provide live music... and have Mary Palmer's hand made pottery as tableware... and have Perla Martinez's chocolate chipotle sauce on flan for desert.

Ramona Family Naturals is wonderful. There are so few options in the supermarkets for healthy,…Read More natural and organic foods. RFN always has great fresh produce and the variety of products is fabulous. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. There is always something new to try. For the same price as a fast food meal, I can get a sandwich or soup and drink and feel good about what I am eating. Thank you Victoria and Bradley for sticking it out through the red tape.

If you do not know Frankie Berkley Newberg, you may be asking yourself "is this woman for…Read More real?" Let me tell you, knowing her personally I can say that everything that Frankie has said about her shop, her self and her love for her business and the community of Ramona is the solid truth. You go Frankie, keep up the wonderful work as the wonderful person that you are! Your designs are beyond reproach!
Stacy Bart March 21, 2013 at 12:13 pm
Thank you Frankie for your beautiful shop. Your flower designs really go above and beyond what I…Read More expect every time. You are an inspiration and raise the bar for Main Street.

My family loves Kountry Kitchen. Have you tried the bread pudding there? It's yummy! They made a…Read More potato chip soup that is really good. You need to try it. I do wish you would bring back the coconut shrimp, big, plump (16-20) shrimp with the tail up over the back (fantail?). The last ones we ordered ended up being the flat , typical ,shrimp . We have not ordered the coconut since. So please consider bringing it back the way it was.
Ada Wildberger March 8, 2013 at 03:35 pm
Oh, with all due respect, Theresa, I would have to say that the outstanding feature of Kountry…Read More Kitchen is the new culinary delights served your clientele by Chef Dave! Not only has the overall quality of your meals improved greatly, but your menu now includes an entire line of desserts that we've only just begun to delve into. And, how about that fabulous Valentine's Dinner the Kountry Kitchen provided to their diners??? I still savor that delightful truffle we had for dessert--fantastic!!! As a contractor over 35 yrs., I guess I have a different definition of extended hrs. As well, My…Read More wife (Jane Tanaka MD) stays open 7am till 7pm, but is usually seeing patients on an urgent basis till 9 pm most every day, including Sat. As a Plumbing Contractor with competition I offer "Urgent" services that are beyond 7 pm on Sat. and 4 pm week days. By anyones standards 4 hr. days is part time. The banner on the fence says "delivering our promise", part time hrs. and a greatly reduced size of what was campaigned for and paid for, is less than "promised". Water under the bridge, I must let that go and "Forgive" as Craig Young (former Chamber CEO) posted on his "one word to summarize" his goal for the new yr. But The project needs to be useable for it's intended purpose and I assure you if Subway sandwich in Ramona can be open 24/7 along with other eateries, that an Urgent Care Unit can be open more than part time. The current ArchHealth Partners are open more hrs. than part time, the reason is, it is needed. The former Radiology services at Ramona Medical Ctr. were open full time, they offered X Ray, CT, Ultra sound & Mammograms as well! Due to lack of support from PPH, & Center for Health & other issues, Ramona Diagnostics X-ray services were lost. This too is water under the bridge, but I bring this up because at that time X Ray services were needed and given in hrs. beyond what is being suggested above. As tax payers every parcel is paying for this.

Their vegetables are excellent, but oh, the fruit! The peaches, so flavorful and juicy, I have to…Read More wear a bib eating them on the way home. And so many varieties! Then there are the berries, my mouth is watering just thinking about them. I had no idea what blueberries really tasted like, my only experience being from the grocery store. Indeed, a wonderful addition to Ramona.

I purchased several books for my office waiting room for kids and adults, and a couple of unique pillows too. Love the local art and jewelry also. the 'word' is that the president can't control fuel prices, but clinton kept the price of fuel at…Read More buck/gal. by opening our reserves when the prices when up...
fuel shot up $2./gal in bush 43's last term ...top prices hit about 6 months before the '08 election... then the prices steadily declined until right after the '08 election...
considering the price of fuel is almost $5/gal now - people need to prepare themselves for fuel to hit $6/gal next summer...

Our oil is being dumped on the world market whose prices are set by OPEC. I believe at least 51% of…Read More U.S. oil should be sold and priced at actual cost plus profit margins here in the U.S. Would love to see bi-partisan legislation offered with the consumer pressuring Congress to push it through. That would offset companies (like BP and other multinationals) making huge profits by pumping our natural resources and then charging us for the pleasure.

GAS PRICES IN THE UNITED STATES ARE COMPLETELY ARTIFICAL and Untill the government step's in and…Read More breakup the monopoly that the fuel companys hold there will never be a realistic pricing of fuel, America is now the #2 crude exporter in the world and we still suffer from shortages and artifical pricing. No company that produces oil should be allowed to refine oil. And the government should control the export of oil just as most nation's do, China, Russia, And the OPEC nations This is just like when they decontroled bank's and mortgage company's and they became one and the same thing and we all know how that worked out!

Although our small businesses( see www.Ramonasplumber.com , wwwJanetanakamd.org) are service…Read More oriented, not retail businesses, we have clients/patients from all over the County of SD and beyond. and we have survived the Great Recession well.
