Ramona Community School

This alternative school campus offers the Montessori program for grades K through 8 plus an independent study academy. The Montessori program is based on the theories of Dr. Maria Montessori, who believed that children should learn at their own pace. Students who do independent study must enter into an agreement with the school district, and their coursework must meet the California Academic Content Standards. The independent-study academy offers individual tutorials, a newsletter, library services, media services through the county, enrichment lessons and after-school clubs. Children can be considered for the program regardless of previous academic performance.
