Get Your Pet Blessed Saturday at San Luis Rey Mission, Oceanside

The San Diego Humane Society will join the friars for the blessings, and there'll be animal adoptions, food, information and entertainment.

The San Diego Humane Society will be at the Mission San Luis Rey Parish on Saturday for the annual Blessing of the Animals.

Friars will conduct blessings at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

A pet food drive and pet adoptions will be held under the Old Mission Ash Tree. There will be food for sale, games, face painting, a pilgrimage with St. Francis, pet parade and more.

The San Diego Humane Society and SPCA is the longest running non-profit organization in San Diego county. Its scope of social responsibility goes beyond adopting out animals.
