For Ramona, the Most Important Election is Local [Blog]

The national election is certainly important, but the local races are where your vote matters most. One planning group candidate's view on the choices this election.

I am running, along with ten other people, for one of eight seats on the Ramona Community Planning Group (RCPG) this November.

If you live in California, you already know that your vote is not going to affect the presidential election. If you want to see change and make an impact, look to the local races. Presidential politics takes the main stage, but the best way to influence the issues you feel strongly about is in your vote for the open planning group seats.

Liberal, conservative, moderate, anti-growth, pro-growth, or managed-growth, the Ramona ballot on November 6th will have it all.

To me, this election is about a choice between candidates who support small business growth and getting our fair share of street improvements, or expanding environmental protections and stopping road projects.

Where do I stand? I believe in a path toward moderate and managed growth without sacrificing community character. I have unequivocally and consistently supported local wineries, business on Main Street, and all things agricultural/equestrian. I have never backed down from our need for improved roads. I have fought against track housing, more apartment complexes, and the loss of two acre lots. If you vote for me, you vote to protect the Ramona lifestyle, encourage the economy, and fix our roads.

Maybe you disagree with me? That is okay too; every person in this race is a kind and impassioned citizen who only wants to help shape their town. The collective discussion only makes our community stronger.

Whatever your beliefs are, please get out and vote for your local candidates this November. We CAN keep Ramona a special place. We CAN encourage the economy. We CAN make a difference.
