Ramona Tennis Champion Jessica Failla Named Star of the Month by Hall of Champions

Ramona High School singles tennis champion Jessica Failla was honored as a
High School Athlete Star of the Month for November by the San Diego Hall of Champions, the organization announced Thursday.

Failla was one of six high school athletes chosen for that honor by the SDHC in November. In the same announcement SDHC honored El Cajon's Jimmie Johnson who won six of the Sprint Cup races recently and a couple San Diego raised NFL players.

The SDHC awarded Failla the honor because she handily won the CIF singles tennis championship in November.

The tennis star is the third person in her family to win a high school tennis championship and didn't lose a single set during the last season. Though only a junior in high school, she's committed to playing for the University of Southern California.
