Ramona Residents Complete the Tri-City Medical Center Carlsbad Marathon and Half Marathon

The sold out event took place Sunday with 2,000 entries in the marathon and 8,000 in the half.

With the roads still slick from rain, thousands pounded the pavement Sunday morning for the Tri-City Medical Center Carlsbad Marathon & Half Marathon.

Three Ramona residents ran the Carlsbad Marathon this weekend:

  • Scott Campbell ran the marathon in 4:56:02 with a pace of 11:18.
  • Rick Tambio ran the marathon in 5:02:58 with a pace of 11:34.
  • Pete Burgos ran the marathon in 5:03:28 with a pace of 11:35.

A total of 37 Ramonans finished the Half Marathon. You can find them listed on the results website.

Mario Macias, 31, from Manitou Springs, Colorado finished the marathon in first place with a time of 2:19:43, running at an average pace of a 5:20. This was his second year in a row winning the race
