Ramona Girls Basketball Season Ends With Loss to Mt. Carmel

Mt. Carmel beat out Ramona in the first round of CIF Division II playoffs, 65-51.

The Ramona High School girls basketball team had their season come to an end on Tuesday, with a 65-51 loss to Mt. Carmel in the first round of the CIF Division II playoffs.

Mt. Carmel’s Ali Engelhardt had a monster game, leading all scorers with 28 points. She also added a whopping 24 rebounds. 

Bulldogs sophomore Katherine Mauldin led the team with 15 points in the loss. Junior Kailey Hill chipped in with 10.

Coach Dan Marshall’s Ramona club led 20-19 at halftime, but were unable to withstand a fourth quarter run by the host Sundevils, as they were outscored 28-17 in the final frame. With the loss, Ramona finished the season 18-11.
