Ramona Family Back Home Safe From Christchurch, New Zealand

Leland and Tracy Rolling have returned from their trip to Christchurch, where Leland had been competing in the ITF Senior World Championships until the 6.3 earthquake nearly a week ago.

A Ramona family visiting Christchurch so the husband could compete in an international tennis tournament has returned home safely, according to a source close to the family.

Leland Rolling was competing in the Dubler Cup ITF Senior World Championships until a 6.3 earthquake ruptured the city, crumbling buildings, uplifting and cracking streets and seriously damaging the tennis venues. It was reported earlier this week that members of the Southern California tennis team were staying in Red Cross shelters and were due to fly out of Christchurch Saturday, U.S. time.

The death toll from the quake, which shook the city early Monday evening, U.S. time has risen to 147. Police expect the final death count to go over 200 people, according to the New Zealand Press Association and Stuff.co.nz.
