Bulldogs Play in CIF Finals With Motivation from Morgan

The Ramona High football team has advanced to the CIF Division III finals.

The U-T San Diego reported that Ramona Bulldogs football player Javier Dominguez draws inspiration from fallen former player Ryan Morgan during the team's CIF playoff games.

Dominguez told the U-T that Morgan, a 2010 Ramona High graduate and West Point cadet who died on June 3 after a motorcycle accident near Ramona, was like a "celebrity" to him, pushing him to do well.

“We put so much blood, sweat and tears into this season,” said Dominguez, a senior defensive back, “and Ryan was our motivation.”

The Dawgs won last week's game against Serra High in the CIF semifinals, advancing them to the San Diego Section Division III finals against Lincoln at Escondido High.
