On a cool and overcast Saturday afternoon, the outlook was sunny for Ramona Kiwanis and Rotary clubs as hundreds gathered at Dos Picos County Park for Music Fest. With chihuahuas peeking out from coats and sweatshirts, locals clapped and danced to eight bands, including the Royal Blues Jazz Band of Ramona High School.
The benefit event saw service club members staffing concessions, auctioning trips and keeping folks entertained. Kids played soccer, got their faces painted and frolicked in an inflated playroom. The event was held in mid-50s weather. But dancing kept many warm, and final performers Rockola, with a nostalgic mix of Beatles, Rolling Stones, Bill Haley & the Comets and other classic covers, had the joint jumping.
