Montecito High Principal Cynthia Nakhshab Announces Retirement

Nakhshab led Montecito students to markedly higher performance on statewide testing programs, according to the district.

Montecito High School Principal Cynthia Nakhshab announced her retirement Monday from the Ramona Unified School District. She will end her current assignment by June 30 but has agreed to work some overlap days to help with the transition of her eventual successor.

After three years of service at the school and a long distinguished administrative and teaching career within the district and around the globe, Nakhshab has determined that it is time to conclude her career and spend more time with her husband and extended family, according to a district news release.

Nakhshab led Montecito students to markedly higher performance on statewide testing programs, the news release stated. She was the catalyst behind a "complete makeover" in the school’s semester structure and school day, while working hand-in-hand with her staff to raise the reputation of the school throughout the community.
