Public Outreach Meeting

SANDAG will host a series of workshops around San Diego County this month to solicit public input on where and how specialized public transportation can fill the gaps–especially for seniors, low-income, and disabled individuals–in the existing transit system.

The public meeting for those in Ramona will be held at the Ramona Senior/Community Center. The comments from this meeting and others will become part of the Short Range Transit Plan, a framework for transit system development over the next five years.

A key goal of this year’s plan is to further refine the specific needs of people who are most likely to use transit and or specialized transportation, such as vanpools, and mini-bus and van services. Accordingly, SANDAG has gathered information from more than 120 transportation providers on the types of populations being served by specialized transportation, as well as the service types and programs utilized within the region.
