HAM Radio Technician Class & Exam

ROARS Offers Ham Radio Class

Anyone who has ever been interested in participating in amateur, or “ham” radio, should be sure to sign up for a one-day Technician class offered by the Ramona Outback Amateur Radio Society (ROARS).

Once signed up for the class, home study materials will be emailed to participants. The material can be studied alone or with friends, wherever the student chooses. An online practice test site is included. The study materials are free; there is a $15 exam fee.

On October 13th, the one-day class begins at 8:30 a.m. The class is followed by the FCC Technician license exam at 3:45 p.m. The exam consists of 35 questions; only 26 needed to be answered correctly to pass.

The Tech class and exam takes place at the Ramona Senior Center at 421 Aqua Lane. To sign up, contact Jolene Dayton at jhdayton@cox.net or call (760) 271-2088. Class size is limited, so early sign up is advised. There will also be a limited number of General Exams available by advance reservation only; Oct. 7 is the deadline.
