Athlete of the Week: Tiffany Larson, Water Polo

This 17-year-old senior says her proudest achievement this season was helping bring home the CIF championship title.

Here at Patch, we think local sports are important. And sometimes, individual players deserve some extra love.

Tiffany Larson, a senior Bulldog who helped take her water polo team to the CIF championship win, is our inaugural Athlete of the Week on Ramona Patch.

Find out Tiffany's favorite part of water polo and if she plans to continue the sport once she hits college.

Patch: What’s your favorite part about playing your sport?

Larson: I love water polo, everything about it. I've been really blessed with a wonderful team and a hardworking coach. My favorite part is well, the water! To me, swimming is more natural than walking!

Patch: How long have you been playing your sport?

Larson: I have been playing water polo since my freshman year of high school.

Patch: What’s the best part about your water polo team?

Larson: The best part about my team is the fact that they are just like a second family to me! We all get along great and are great friends.

Patch: What’s been your proudest achievement this year?

Larson: My proudest achievement is having helped bring home league, CIF, as well as knowing that I worked my very hardest all season and to see that the hard work has payed off!

Patch: What’s been the most challenging part of your season?

Larson: This season has been very mentally challenging, But I knew that if my team and I just worked our hardest, had fun and did our best, no one asked more of us!

Patch: What would you like to improve upon for next year’s season?

Larson: I would love continue working on technique, it's amazing how much technique is required to just block a ball!

Patch: Do you continue to play sports into college?

Larson: I do not have a college picked out, I am still looking. I would love to continue playing water polo.

Patch: Any scholarships or anticipated scholarships?

Larson: I hope some will come up!

Patch: Best part about being a Bulldog?

Larson: I am proud to be a Bulldog; best part is the red, white and blue!!
