Molly Malone's Is Readers' Choice for Where to Toast St. Patrick's Day

Get ready for corned beef and cabbage and drinks such as the Irish car bomb. Get a little Outta Line and expect DJ Buz.

Congratulations to Molly Malone’s Sports Tavern on Main Street, the Readers’ Choice winner for the best spot to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Ramona. Molly Malone’s had twice the number of votes as the runner-up. Hoist a green beer in victory Saturday!

The bar will open at noon. Owner Bob Isaacson told Patch he's not sure how many people to expect.

"I've never been here when St. Patrick's Day has fallen on a Saturday," he said.

He'll be serving up complimentary corned beef and cabbage at 5:30pm.

"I have about enough for 100 people, so they'd better come early," he said.

The band Outta Line will play from 7 to 11 p.m., and then Ramona's DJ Buz will entertain from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Green beer will be the order of the day, and there'll be "rolling specials" on  Irish whiskey drinks by the hour. One of their specialties is the Irish car bomb. You'll have to visit Molly's to find out the ingredients.

The bar has been a fixture in Ramona for more than 20 years. It was formerly called Teepee Room and Fat Cat.
