Timothy Danielson Pleads Not Guilty; Ming Qi Died of Multiple Gunshot Wounds

Danielson, an engineer and former star athlete, pleads not guilty in the death of his ex-wife.

Lakeside resident Ming Qi died of multiple gunshot wounds, according to a report Thursday by the San Diego County Medical Examiner.

Timothy Ralph Danielson, reported to be her former husband, pleaded not guilty in her death in San Diego Superior Court in El Cajon Thursday, states a report by SignOnSanDiego.com.

Authorities found Qi dead in a home in the 10000 block of New Bedford Court early Monday morning after they received a call from a concerned woman.

The woman told them her brother-in-law had emailed to say he had killed his wife.

Sheriff's deputies found Danielson, an engineer and former star athlete, in the home in medical distress after inhaling carbon monoxide from a portable generator. He was arrested on suspicion of murder late Monday while in hospital recovering.

SignOnSanDiego.com reported that Danielson, 63, and Qi, 48, had divorced but that she had moved back in due to financial reasons.

While at Chula Vista High School, Danielson was one of two high school athletes in the country to run a mile in under four minutes, the website reports.
