Special Planning Group Meeting Thursday About Solar Proposal

The public is invited to voice opinions on the proposed Warnock Drive solar farm at the gathering at Ramona Community Center.

Ramona residents will have another chance to air their views Thursday night on a solar energy farm proposed for an agricultural property on Warnock Drive. The public has until June 1 to offer comments, then the 45-acre project will go before the County Planning Commission for approval or denial of a requested major use permit.

Thursday's meeting of Ramona Community Planning Group will be at 7 p.m. at Ramona Community Center.

The wholesale distributed generation solar project is proposed by Sol Orchard, a Berkeley company for part of a hog farm at Warnock Drive and Ramona Street. The company has offered a 25-year lease to property owner Mark Bousema. The plan has been unanimously opposed by the planning group and some neighbors are resisting it.
