Sheriff’s Department Seeks Suspect in Armed Robbery in Ramona

A male suspect fled on foot this morning after demanding cash at Ransom Brothers on B Street.

A suspect in an armed robbery at in Ramona Friday morning fled on foot and is being sought by law enforcement.

Sheriff’s Sgt. Christina Bavencoff of the Ramona substation said a man demanded money from a cashier at the store on B Street. A call was received at 9:24 a.m.

The suspect was wearing black pants, a hoodie, hat, sunglasses and a bandanna, Bavencoff said. He was described as 5 feet 9 or 5 feet 10 inches tall and between 160 to 180 pounds.

Store Manager Pat Cronn told Patch that the suspect fled north on Sixth Street after getting away with less than $500.

Cronn said no one in the store was injured, “just very scared.” No shots were fired, he said.

Bavencoff said the suspect had a silver handgun with a black grip.
