RMWD Renews Contract With Cal Fire for FY 2013-14

Cal Fire has increased their projected costs for the next fiscal year by $315,349.

The Ramona Water Board approved of another year of contracted services from Cal Fire Tuesday that included a $315,349 increase in projected costs for the coming fiscal year.

The Ramona Municipal Water District (RMWD) uses Cal Fire services based upon a year-to-year basis. Under the new agreement between the two agencies, projected costs will increase by more than $315,000.

Cal Fire Battalion Chief Burke Kremensky told the board the increase comes from the rise in fuel costs, as well as employee leave balances beyond the allowed limits and an increase in employer health and dental contributions.

The board voted, 4-0, to approve of the agreement with Cal Fire for another year. Director Kit Kesinger was absent.

The total budgeted cost for Cal Fire services for the next fiscal year is $5,542,888.
