Rebate Programs Offered to Ramonans Can Help Save on Water Costs

Ramona Municipal Water Districts has a list of valuable resources for residents, businesses and farmers.

Water Resource Specialist Patty Bevers gave a special presentation to the Ramona water board Tuesday, reminding them and residents that the Ramona Municipal Water District offers up special rebate programs on water conservation.

"As the cost of water rises, these programs offer valuable savings to our customers," Bevers told the board.

Various programs offered by the district include:

Simple swaps can be made, like replacing all of your toilets with 1.28 gallons per flush bowls or getting a free "water checkup" to assess how you can better save on water usage.

Bever said the free irrigation checkups are especially beneficial to our local Ramona growers.

"Many have used this program... it is such a valuable program for our farmers," Bevers said.

Ramona residents can check out more resources for rebates and way to save water costs at the RMWD website.

District General Manager David Barnum said RMWD hopes to have forms available to the public to help spread the information to the community.

Residents with questions can contact Bevers at 760-789-1330.
