Ramona Residents Are Invited to Water District Budget Workshops

The board has accepted the draft budget calendar for 2011-12. Workshops begin March 8.

The Ramona Municipal Water District board has approved a draft budget calendar for fiscal year 2011-2012.  Staff has proposed that four workshops with the board of directors take place between March 8 and May 10. A public hearing with the adoption of the final budget is set for June 14. Public comment will be encouraged at all workshops, which will be held during the regular meetings at 4:30 p.m. at the Community Center.

In other news, the board has been asked to work with the San Diego Country Estates (SDCE) board of directors to seek grants for reclaimed water projects. Grants are available from the County of San Diego but require a water district to be the primary applicant, SDCE resident Erne Garrett recently told the water district board. A previous request for funding made by the SDCE board was denied, he said.
