Ramona Resident Dan Lamborn Appointed Superior Court Judge

Veteran prosecutor and Ramona resident Dan Lamborn was appointed to a Superior Court judgeship Friday by Gov. Jerry Brown.

Lamborn, 57, has been employed by the San Diego County District Attorney's Office since 1983, and has been the chief deputy district attorney for the past five years.

The Ramona resident is known for successfully prosecuting Cleophus Prince, who fatally stabbed six women in the 1990s. He was named the San Diego County Prosecutor of the Year in 1994 by the Deputy District Attorneys Association.

The Republican will fill a vacancy created by the resignation of Judge Lisa Foster.

Commissioner Cindy Davis, 50, was also appointed to a Superior Court judgeship Friday. She has been a Superior Court commissioner for seven years. Before that, the Imperial Beach resident was a deputy city attorney for the city of San Diego and a lawyer with Luce Forward Hamilton & Scripps.

The Democrat will fill a vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Steven Denton.

The two will both earn an annual salary of $181,292.
